I was toying with the idea for writing blogs from soo long… And finally.. I’m able to type them down now! Don’t raise your brow lines here giving me those “Ohh!! Finally Sneha’s got serious!!" looks.. :P... Naaah.. I can’t be like that.. And my near and dear ones would totally agree with that!! J The idea became serious this time cos for the only fact that in my new office I’ve various blog sites open up… and secondly I’m in my KT (Knowledge transition) phase… which means that I end up with lots of free time!!
And while many of the first-time ब्लोग्गेर्स must have thought on as to what to choose to write on upon… I was thankful as to not to have to face that dilemma out here…
They say “Necessity is the mother of invention!!” No.. I haven’t invented anything… Just read on to know why I meant that way..
Ten things how to pass on your time while pretending that you are working when you are on BENCH/ on KT sessions/ No work/ Have work but u have managed to put that on someone else ;)
1. For the Blogger:
Open up a complex requirement document of the project and then decrease the font… Now scroll down to the page where you can see maximum gathering of words. Voila!! Just start writing from here the blog articles you were waiting to write from so long!!! See.. that way you are also happy and your manager too.. J (How do you think I’ve completed this blog?? :D )
Caution: Do keep writing on other pages too… Otherwise the idea of you being on the same page from the past last hour wouldn’t be a good idea.. J
2. For the Painters:
Look up at your monitor… Now take your pen and scribble something in your notepad… Mutter few words and pretend that you are thinking on something serious. Now again look at your monitor.. Scroll down a bit… go back to your notepad… scribble again.. And continue doing so until you have finished with the sketch you wanted to draw… J (As of me…. My office has this no cubicle culture… which means that there are no cubicles around. Just desks. So it can be that you and your manager sit side to side… And yes… I’m one of those few unfortunates who have to sit all besides my manager…Plus I have 2 managers here… (Wow!! Ek ke saath ek free!! ) One sits right in front of me and the second exactly behind me… toh I tried this trick and drew a pic with the one that sits in front of me… J )
3. For the Travellers:
When you come to the office… Let everyone settle down.. Now you can go to the filter to fill in your bottle… While going ask all of your teammates if they want their bottles to be filled in by you?? Take all their bottles. When you go to the filter, just don’t start filling in the bottles… Keep those bottles there and go and have a round in your office… J J
Don’t go on for long walks… otherwise your bottle will be filled in by your teammate who will come there searching for you and his/her bottle!!
When you have filled those bottles and returned toh just give that “How much heavy all this stuff is and how you had to wait so long!!” looks.. but still answer that you absolutely had no issues filling those bottles when your teammates say to you that “Sorry… I think you got overloaded”. Your teammates would appreciate your help so much!! And that comes with the free ride yaar!!!
4. For the net surfers :
This isn’t an idea but just a tip. If you want to surf without letting your seniors know. Then open an excel sheet with lots of colours on it and re size the window according to your excel sheet but place the window at the down side of your monitor. So that it will not be visible to your lead and you can minimize it whenever the need be.!! The core reason behind the colour of the excel sheet funda is still unknown to me. But trust me it works. After all that is my manager’s idea!! J And I have tested this when I passed by my managers desk!!
5. For the Book readers:
Applies for soft copies of novels only:
The Rule of Blogger applies here too. Just copy paste all the stuff from the soft copy of the novel on to a document and name it with some of the names of the project documents!!! The more complex and bouncer the name is the better it gets… J
